Chen Bo

Chen Bo (1960-): A native of Lanxi, Zhejiang Province. In 1982, he obtained the bachelor's degree in principia mathematica from Zhejiang University and worked there as a lecturer. In 1987, he obtained the MSc degree from the Institute of Applied Mathematics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 1994, he received the Ph.D. degree in Econometrics from Erasmus University Rotterdam. He is currently a tenured professor of operations research and management science at the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom, and co-director of the Centre for Discrete Mathematics and its Applications.

He has been an expert for nomination of the Nobel Prize in Economics since 2006. In 2012, he obtained the senior doctorate degree at the University of Warwick, which symbolized the Lifetime Achievement Award. He is the fellow of Operational Research Society, Institute of Mathematics and Its Applications, and British Academy of Social Sciences. He serves as the associate editor of more than a dozen internationally renowned academic journals, and made innovative contributions to operations research, computer science, management science, and economics.
